Mu - How to Make a Kids' Code Editor

Nicholas Tollervey

[The Raspberry Pi Foundation][1] receives feedback about the difficulties beginner programmers encounter when learning Python from thousands of volunteer mentors at after-school CodeClubs and thousands of teachers from around the world. [Mu][3] is a Python code editor for beginner programmers based upon this feedback. This talk tells the story of Mu: why it was created, how we built it and includes a demonstration of how it works.
