Emily Irvine

Emily is a graduate student studying neuroscience at Dartmouth College. She started using Python in 2012 to make her research open source, transparent and reproducible. Emily is part of a growing community of neuroscientists moving away from a reliance on Excel and MATLAB and toward Python. She advocates for the use of Python as a first programming language for scientists to learn because of the availability of free beginner resources and the welcoming community.
