Ohida Binte Amin is an incoming Health Informatics Ph.D. student at Northeastern University, Boston. Previously, she worked as a Specialist (Digital Service, IoT, and VAS - IT Division) at Robi Axiata Limited which is the second-largest telecommunication company in Bangladesh. Before that, she graduated in Computer Science and Engineering at KUET in March 2020. During her undergraduate thesis, she performed research on biomedical image analysis and developed A Novel Diagnosis Framework for Pneumonia using Deep Learning. In her responsibilities at Robi, Ohida developed an AI-enabled automation system for managing and resolving customers’ complaints with zero human intervention
Having been born and brought up in Bangladesh, Ohida realized that the number of female students in STEM research is very low in her country which has become an obstacle to the improvement of her nation in science and technology. So, her dream is to enrich herself with quality education and fruitful research so that she can popularize STEM among girls in Bangladesh and other developing countries.
