The molab team builds a cloud-hosted marimo notebook service that lets anyone experiment with data, build interactive apps, and share their work — all powered by open-source marimo and AI-assisted coding.

What you'll do:

Co-design and implement the backend architecture of molab
Solve for high availability, low latency (rapid kernel spin-up/down, fast frontend↔backend communication), stability, and abuse prevention
Design molab to run on CoreWeave's Kubernetes-based clusters and integrate with CoreWeave object storage
Optimize GPU utilization across the platform

Required:

8+ years of software engineering experience
Strong systems fundamentals (parallel computing, concurrency, async programming, networking/IPC)
Experience with containerization, Kubernetes, scheduling, networked filesystems, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure
Experience building highly available, fault-tolerant systems
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred:

Proficiency with Python and Python packaging
Familiarity with the Python AI/ML stack
Experience with GPU resource allocation and sharing
Empathy for practitioners and researchers in AI, ML, and data engineering

Join the marimo team as a Senior Developer Relations Engineer and help grow the open-source Python notebook that's redefining how developers work with data. You'll be the technical voice of marimo in the community — shipping growth engineering, creating content, building partnerships, and showing developers what's possible.

What you'll do:

Identify and execute high-leverage, scalable, and measurable ways to grow usage — from growth-related software engineering to content creation
Serve as a technical liaison between marimo and its community
Organize and attend SF Bay Area events plus national conferences (including PyCon!)
Build partnerships with open-source projects and developer relations teams for joint initiatives

Required:

2+ years of software engineering experience
2+ years in developer relations and/or growth
Python proficiency with strong language-agnostic fundamentals
Technical background in AI, ML, and data science
Strong written and verbal communication skills with a proven track record

Preferred:

Experience with AI coding models
Open-source community growth expertise
Familiarity with Python notebooks
Background in developer tools
Data-driven, metrics-focused approach
