There's a lot to choose from here, so find a few that you're excited about that relate to your work. Then, use the template below to share some information about the conference with your manager and tell them why you want to attend and what you hope to learn from it. Be sure to tailor it to your own attendance plans, including tutorials and sprints if applicable.
An additional email template is available for download here.
Template:
"I'd like to attend PyCon US in Long Beach, CA, which is just around the corner from May 13th through the 19th. The main talks I hope to see are [talk titles and links]. There's also a tutorial about [topic], opportunities to network with Python community members, and even development sprints where we can contribute to the kinds of open source software we use in our projects. Going to this conference will help me stay up to date with the Python ecosystem, connect with the community, and bring those lessons back to our team.
Main conference tickets are $899, and tutorials can be added to that ticket for $150 each. There are also discounted hotel block rates available for conference attendees. The details of what's included with the registration cost are available on the registration information page.
If you have questions or would like to know more about the conference, you can find all of the details on the website. Please let me know if we can find a time to talk about attending PyCon US."
