PyCon US 2026 Open Spaces Schedule

The Python Developer Survey reaches thousands of people and shapes decisions across the ecosystem. It has also received similar community feedback for a couple of years without many changes. Not because no one cares, but because the PSF isn’t composed of survey experts and there's no current process for the community to get involved or for their input to be integrated. This open space is about figuring out what a community-based process for the survey could look like. One where the feedback loop affects real change and ownership is shared. The survey may continue to be imperfect, but at least we’ll be moving in the right direction together. Where we end up depends on who's in the room. If the energy is right, we might walk out with concrete proposals for a more community-driven process. But, if we end up in a whiteboard session brainstorming better questions, that's a fine place to land, too. Your opinions and (constructive) complaints are very much welcome.

The PSF Board will host an open space to talk about strategic planning. More details to follow.
