Notice: Scam emails
ALERT: NOTICE OF SCAM EMAILS
We have been advised that ‘SCAM’ emails are being received with claims to provide a PyCon US attendee list.
As PyCon US grows closer to opening and the webpage becomes more active, it seems individuals and companies unaffiliated with PyCon are targeting our sponsors, past and present, with offers to sell attendee lists.
Please note that PyCon does not, under any circumstances, rent or sell lists to brokers.
Should you be contacted by a list broker or firm offering a PyCon list, please do not engage—these individuals and/or companies are not affiliated with PyCon and do not have access to PyCon lists, nor are they authorized to represent PyCon.
You should consider this a phishing scam. For your protection, do not respond to these offers with any personal or payment information.
Your privacy is of utmost importance to us, and these are issues that we take very seriously. We will work with our legal team to address these scams should they continue in frequency.
Email us if you have any questions.
