Presented by:

Description

Are you interested in making an impact on healthcare for generations to come? Get a rare deep dive into Python’s application for health. In this beginner-friendly workshop, get your feet wet with electronic health records and learn how to simulate realistic patient trajectories based on the latest medical literature. We’ll look at a specific medical condition, then zoom out to see how poly-omics (environmental and real-world data) can impact an individual’s health trajectory. Learn to use Python tools with mock clinical data, FHIR and Synthea to work backwards from patient symptoms in records and generate simple modeling frameworks for possible health trajectories. Leave this session with a better understanding of what patient data looks like, the schema it’s in, and a handful of tips and tricks for working with open source medical data.
