Samarth Rangavittal

Samarth Rangavittal is a graduate student in Genomics & Bioinformatics at Penn State. His research mainly involves trying to figure out what goes on inside our body's cells by writing code for chopping, connecting and visualizing strings of DNA. Samarth's lab gets their samples from a variety of species : two recent projects have been on gorillas, and potatoes. At PyCon, he would like to share his experiences with analyzing DNA assemblies using Python.
