**About Big Brothers Big Sisters Columbia Northwest:

Big Brothers Big Sisters Columbia Northwest (BBBS) builds bonds that change lives. As the region’s largest youth mentoring organization, BBBS supports matches between children facing adversity and mentors. Mentors, known as Bigs, act as friends and role models and help the children, known as Littles, navigate challenges and graduate high school ready for college or career.

BBBS has served more than 1,000 children in the past year alone, and more than 7,500 since its inception in 2002. Moreover, children with a Big experience healthier lives as compared to children who face similar challenges and who do not have a mentor in their lives: 90% of children with a Big graduate high school, compared with an overall graduation rate of 73% in our region.

A private, independent and non-profit organization, BBBS has been named by the Portland Business Journal as one of Oregon’s top-two most admired nonprofits for the past two years and is supported primarily through private donations right here in the Portland-Vancouver region.
