Melissa Ou

Melissa is a developer and forecaster at the Climate Prediction Center (CPC) in Maryland. She served as coding lead for the first major, collaborative, project at CPC to develop a climate forecast application using Python. Her goal is to explore/show how Python can support science and research, especially for weather and climate prediction and monitoring. Main Pythonic interests include finding optimal ways to process large datasets efficiently (climate data is inherently large and timeliness is a necessity for operations), as well as using Python to create powerful and unique tools for forecast guidance and analysis.
