Kurt has experience developing high-performance parallel simulations in compiled languages, and uses Python for everything else, although he'd like to use Python for everything, full stop. His time at Enthought is spent actively working on bringing the strengths of Python and NumPy to domains typically dominated by Fortran, C, and C++. Kurt has developed tools to simplify the integration of performance-oriented languages with Python during his graduate studies in computational plasma physics at the University of Wisconsin.
