### Critical Information
The convention center is a large building, and PyCon will only be occupying a portion of it.
* Ushers will be available on-site to provide directions
* Registration will take place in the ["210 West Lobby" on
the 200-level](https://www.dropbox.com/s/6xv2y4mu9w3s0lr/210_west.pdf?dl=0).
The escalators at the west end of the building provide the most direct
access.

###Who to ask for directions at the Convention Center
The Palais des congrès (the convention center where PyCon is held) has ushers who walk around the property and assist people with directions. The ushers are easily recognizable; positioned at strategic locations (at bottom and top of main escalators in particular). They do wear black attire with a Palais touch (little scarf, tie, armband).
You can also go up to PyCon Registration (210 Lobby West, level 2) and ask how to get to a certain session.

####You can access the convention center (Palais des congrès) from the Westin and the Hyatt through underground tunnels:
**Hyatt:** From the lobby, take the elevator closest to the lobby bar to Level 2. From there so right until you reach a beverage depot on your right. At that point you should see escalators to a lower level tunnel, which will take you to the Palais des congrès.
**Westin**: From the 3rd level, take the elevator down to the underground level and just follow the indications for the "Palais des congrès" and take your right
###Registration Hours and Location
Badge pick up will take place onsite at registration in the Palais des congrès / Convention Center in the 210 West Lobby, which is located on the 2nd floor. Please see [the annotated floor plan](https://www.dropbox.com/s/6xv2y4mu9w3s0lr/210_west.pdf?dl=0).
At registration you will be able to pick up your conference badge, change/add tutorial registrations, and/or update the information that prints on your badge. Onsite rates will apply.

###Swag Bag Pick Up
Swag bag pick up will occur onsite in the Palais des congrès / Convention Center in the 210 West Lobby, which is located on the 2nd floor. Please see [the annotated floor plan](https://www.dropbox.com/s/6xv2y4mu9w3s0lr/210_west.pdf?dl=0). The bags will be distributed Friday 7am-3pm and Sat 7am-12pm.
###Plenary Session Location
The opening of PyCon will be Friday April 10th in the plenary session room: 517AB at 9:00am: [5th floor annotated floor plan](https://www.dropbox.com/s/5fu13c9pg5octww/plenary_session_5th_floor.pdf). ###Lunch Access & Breaks during the Tutorials
There are two 20 minute breaks during Tutorials, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. The morning break is at 10:15 a.m. and the afternoon break at 3:00 p.m. The refreshment breaks will be served outside of each room, not in a central location.
Attendees who have an AM/PM tutorial at the convention center should attend lunch at the convention center in room 710 at 12:20pm. Room 710 is located on the 7th floor at the Palais des congrès / Convention Center right by the escalators.
###Breakfast, Lunch & Breaks during the Conference
The main conference breakfast (April 10-12) will be served in room 210 (in the Exhibition Hall). Breakfast will start at 8:00am daily and will go on for about an hour and a half. The main conference lunch (April 10 - 12) will be served in room 210 (in the Exhibition Hall).

###Lost & Found Information
If you lose something onsite at the convention center, please address inquires to a security officer at the Security Operations Center on the main floor or dial 5508 on the house phone. From outside of the Palais, you can reach the Security Operations Cenrer by dialing (514) 871-3141.
If that does not work, check at the PyCon registration desk in the 210 West Lobby, sometimes items get returned there.

###Transportation
If you are planning to take the bus or the metro you should probably have a look at the [STM website](http://www.stm.info/en) and have a look at the different [fares](http://www.stm.info/en/info/fares/transit-fares) - 3 days and weekly passes could be a great option.
