Hugo Boyer

Hugo Boyer

Hugo got interested in software when studying Mechanical Engineering in Montreal. He spent about ten years building the spacecraft simulation infrastructure for the European Space Agency. He came back to North America in 2007 to reinvented himself as a digital fabrication specialist. He enjoys Python, GPU programming, and making things with 3D printers and CNC machines. He's a software engineer at Makerbot Industries, a small NY company that makes machines that make things.

His motivation: he always wanted to build robots. And you can't just buy the parts, you often need to create new ones. He wants to bring the best software development practices to the design of physical things.
