Tom Smith is a recent graduate of the Johns Hopkins University, and is currently project manager of Project Gado, an initiative which aims to create an open-source archival scanning robot which small archives can purchase for less than $500 and use to digitize their photographic collections. In addition to running Gado, Tom is a partner at ESDA LLC, a startup which is using Python to develop a wireless sensing device for the cold-chain logistics industry.
