Hello, my name is Daniel Szoke and I am a software engineer at Sentry, where I currently maintain Sentry CLI and the Rust SDK. When I started working for Sentry about two and a half years ago, I joined as a Python developer working on our Python SDK. A few months in, I learned Rust, so that I could take over maintenance of the Sentry CLI, which is written in Rust. More recently, I have gone all in on Rust by taking over maintenance of the Rust SDK and moving away from my work on the Python SDK.
While I continue to admire Python for its simplicity, ease of use, and excellent library ecosystem — especially when it comes to data science — I am passionate about the Rust programming language and want to share that passion with developers of other languages, with the hope that I can spark a similar passion for Rust in them.
