Jai Chandnani is the Inaugural AI Engineer Fellow at the Cornell AI Innovation Hub. Within Cornell University’s AI Program, he leads projects focused on building and deploying generative AI solutions to streamline workflows, improve decision-making, and scale high-impact services. He also advances AI literacy and fluency across campus through introductory workshops and hands-on training sessions that help stakeholders apply generative AI responsibly and effectively.
He holds a Master’s degree in Information Science from Cornell University, where he completed two AI-based capstone projects, working alongside Google. He helpeed develop a Python framework for GenAI Evals using Vertex AI APIs to benchmark Gemini models across tasks such as question answering and summarization, applying LLM-as-a-judge methods and statistical validation. He also co-led UX/UI research for an AI-powered sales and customer success platform, conducting market analysis, usability testing, and focus groups to inform product recommendations for Google Cloud’s global sales organization.
He also served as a Research Assistant to the American Economic Association (AEA) Data Editor at the Labor Dynamics Institute Replication Lab, verifying computational reproducibility by running R and Julia workflows in Docker containers on high-performance computing systems.
