Typing Summit

The 2024 Typing Summit will be held on Friday, May 17 from 10 am to 1 pm. All are invited to attend. To indicate your interest, please fill out https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSflP6rvfWB8dOyCXCtxXcbt8BA3eBmjL7rpWlJTRHiPPF0Ntw/viewform?usp=sf_link.

The summit is organized by Steven Troxler and Jelle Zijlstra. The planned schedule is:

  • 10 am: Start, welcome, introductions
  • 10:20 am: Typing Council
  • 11:05 am: Alex Waygood on the Rust vs Python type systems
  • 11:30–11:45 pm: Break
  • 11:45 am: Carl Meyer on "Theory of Type Hints, Revisited"
  • 12:15 pm: David Foster on TypeForm
  • 12:45 pm: Lightning talks and open discussion
  • 1 pm: End
