Q: Who is eligible for PyCon US 2021 Financial Aid?

A: The financial aid program is open to all contributors, attendees, students, and speakers and aims to provide assistance to those who otherwise might not be able to attend the conference.

Q: When/how can I apply for PyCon US 2021 Financial Aid?

A. Here are important dates around the financial aid process:

  • February 3, 2021: PyCon 2021 Registration launches
  • February 10, 2021: Financial Aid applications open
  • March 26, 2021: Financial aid application closes on23:59:59 on Mar 26th AoE
  • April 9, 2021: Financial aid grants awarded
  • April 23, 2021: Deadline to respond to accept/ decline financial aid

Please identify the email address as a 'safe list' in your email client. The Financial Aid team will send email communications regarding updates and information about the awards using this email and they can get caught in spam filters.

Q: Are there limits to how much financial aid I may receive?

A: PyCon strives to provide assistance to as many financial aid applicants as possible by optimizing the funds we have available for financial aid. While we wish we could give grants to everyone who applies, our funds are limited.

Financial Aid for PyCon US 2021 is limited to one complimentary conference registration ticket per financial aid recipient.

As always, all of our talks are recorded, so you can enjoy PyCon content online for free after the conference has ended.

If you have already submitted an initial request, you may adjust it by logging in to the financial aid dashboard. Please make adjustments to your application by March 26, 2021 AoE. Feel free to contact us with any questions.

Q: Where can I find out the status of my grant application?

A: Application status and other options can be found on your PyCon US 2021 dashboard.

Q: Should I register for the conference before I find out if my financial aid application has been approved?

A: No. Financial Aid applicants do not need to register in the fear that the conference will sell out!

Q: After my grant is approved, how do I register for the conference and tutorials at the discounted rate?

A: Registration for the conference is separate from clicking the link in the Financial Aid Award email you received. To register, log into your PyCon website, and go to your dashboard to access the registration page. Enter the Registration/Voucher Code provided to you in the Financial Aid email on the registration page where requested. You will receive the option for the Financial Aid complimentary registration. Note: Tutorials are not included in the complimentary registration and will require an additional fee of $50.00 per tutorial.
