Doug Hellman is currently a Senior Developer with Racemi, Inc. Programming in Python since version 1.4, Doug has worked on a variety of Unix and non-Unix platforms for projects in fields such as mapping, medical news publishing, banking, and data center automation. He was the Editor in Chief of Python Magazine from 2008-2009, and a regular columnist for the prior year. Doug has written a popular blog over the past several years where he posted "A Module a Week" that gave detail and examples of the Python library and has formed the basis of his book. Doug is the Communications Director for the Python Software Foundation. He lives in Athens, Georgia.
