I'm a PhD student, a computational biologists discovering "structural variants" in the human genome as part of the 1000 Genomes project.
I use Python to process & analyze very large datasets. I use it to discover "Mobile Elements", parts of the genome that copy&paste themselves repeatedly and sometimes cause disease.
