Python in Music

Continuing the tradition of the “Hacking Music” Open Space from PyCon 2010, let’s get together to discuss all the ways Python is and can be used in music. Feel free to present any music-related project or a tool you’ve found useful. Performing music (quietly) might provide welcome variety from the rest of the conference.

Topic ideas

Add yours to the list:

  • How you are using (or making) one of these: http://wiki.python.org/moin/PythonInMusic
  • How you are using Canoris, Echo Nest, or other web services
  • Computer aided musicology
  • Music information retrieval
  • Recommendation systems
  • Automated composition
  • New musical instruments, controllers, interfaces

When?

7pm Saturday in Hanover F. Or if that doesn't work for you suggest a different time.

Who is coming?

Add your name here if you want to come:

  • Jonathan Marmor
  • John Morrissey (@johnmorr)
  • Jacob Lee (@arthurdenture)

See https://convore.com/pycon-2011/python-and-musicaudiodsp-bof/ for another group that wants to do the same thing. I hope we can all use this slot?

Jonathan Marmor: Yes! Let's combine forces if 7pm Sat is good for everyone.
