Network Plan for PyCon 2007
Purchased Equipment
- (3) Proxim AP-4000, one with dual 802.11a radios
These were purchased for eval, but various issues resulted in us not deciding to use them.
- (12) D-Link DWL-7200AP
These are going to be the primary APs?, they have both 802.11a and b+g radios. We will be doing WDS to distribute the network between rooms and the remainder will run both radios as APs?.
- (12) D-Link DWL-3200AP
These are "backup" radios in case we need extra APs? or coverage, or need a "industrial" or plenum-rated radio. Otherwise, these will go back to the supplier.
- Firewall (provided by tummy.com)
Configured to act as the DHCP+NAT box for the network, including logging of network utilization for future reference, also will log AP associations.
If you have equipment we can use at Pycon, please list it here. Tell us who you are, so we will know who to get the stuff from.
