PyCon 2007 Sponsorship

The Python Software Foundation is seeking sponsors for PyCon 2007, which will be held in Addison, Texas (near Dallas), at the Dallas/Addison Marriott Quorum hotel from February 22-25 2007, with a four-day sprint from February 26-March 1 after the organized conference.

This year we are hoping to attract even more Python enthusiasts, and need your assistance to ensure that the event is a success.

We're planning a session of 5-minute lightning talks during the lunch hour on Friday, February 22. Sponsors will have first priority for signing up to give talks during this session, so it's a great chance to briefly present your product, talk about job opportunities at your company, or advertise a longer talk or open space session that your staff will be giving later in the conference.

The following sponsorship packages are available:

Platinum: Prominent billing on the web site and conference literature. Keynote sponsorship. Banner (if provided) in main conference room. Tote bag insert. Listing and logo placement in convention program and on conference tote bag. Platinum sponsorship link on conference web sites. Two full three-day passes. Priority for giving lightning talks during the Friday lunchtime session. $5,000.

Gold: Tote bag insert. Banner (if provided) in conference room. Listing and logo placement in convention program and on conference tote bag. Gold sponsorship link on conference web sites. One full three-day pass. Priority for giving lightning talks during the Friday lunchtime session. $2,000.

Silver: Named sponsorships of either a development sprint or morning or afternoon breaks. Banner (if provided) in sprint room or break area. Tote bag insert. Listing and logo placement in convention program. Silver sponsorship link on conference web sites. Priority for giving lightning talks during the Friday lunchtime session. $500.

Other Opportunities: We are prepared to consider other promotional activities that would help sponsors meet their goals. Please contact us with your proposals if the standard packages do not meet your needs.

Logos: We require bitmap badges for the web site, and vector art for printed materials:

  • Bitmap web badges: maximum 160x80 pixels (width x height).
  • Vector art: SVG files preferred. Illustrator files or high-resolution bitmap files are an acceptable alternative.

If provided, banners should be received by PyCon by the Monday before the conference begins (February 19 2007). Contact PyCon for the address to ship to. The maximum banner size is 12' x 2'.

Other sponsorship opportunities are also available, and we would be grateful if you would consider adding one of these to the opportunities above:

Bag insert sponsorship: provides you with the opportunity to present a message and marketing materials to each delegate. $200.

Media sponsorship: List the conference in a prominent position on your web site and we will link to your site from your logo on the PyCon site. Reporting organizations may also send a representative to meet with speakers and delegates, providing a unique opportunity to keep your finger on the pulse of an important part of the open source world. Priority for giving lightning talks during the Friday lunchtime session. Free.

If you are interested in sponsoring PyCon, please fill in our sponsorship request form. Alternatively, you can contact us via email at pycon-sponsors at python.org.
