Game Programming Clinic and Online Gaming


Friday Evening

  • Phil Hassey will give an introduction to Galcon, an awesome high-paced multi-player galactic action-strategy game. You send swarms of ships from planet to planet to take over the galaxy. Phil will be handing out free limited-time licenses to those present. Phil will also be glad to talk about the development of Galcon.
  • after the PSF Members meeting ends around 8:40pm, Richard Jones will give his pygame presentation, a 30-60 minute introduction to the PyGame framework so you too can get started writing games.

Saturday Evening

  • Lucio Torre and Alejandro J. Cura, presenters of the "pyweek: making games in 7 days" talk being given Friday afternoon, will help people build small games.
  • Mike Fletcher will be available (after the OLPC hands-on) to help with PyOpenGL(approve sites) issues and learning how to use OpenGL? in Pygame. He will also be generally available during the sprints to help with problems with PyOpenGL(approve sites) and OpenGLContext(approve sites).

Sunday Evening

  • Lucio Torre and Alejandro J. Cura will help people build small games.
  • Phil Hassey will help people get into playing Galcon and everyone can get into multiplayer challenges against those present.
  • Richard Jones will be back to present more about PyGame and to help reach a consensus on what to work on during the GameSprint. Richard also runs PyWeek, a bi-annual python game programming challenge.
