Items Needed for PyCon 2006

If you can provide any of thes items, please put your name (and email!) next to it. If you know something is needed not on the list, then add it.

There is a more general wishlist at http://wiki.python.org/moin/NeededSupplies2006 but this page will continually be trimmed to what is actually needed, from moment to moment.

General Supplies

  • rolls of masking tape (Jeff Rush: jeff at taupro.com)
  • gaffing tape (Marriott charges $10.50/roll; can anyone beat that?)
    • Walmart has 3m brand tape they call painters tape. It is $4 per roll and says it is guaranteed to be removable with no traces after being installed for up to two weeks, even in direct sunlight. Would that work?@@
  • scissors, for cutting signs and such (catherine.devlin at gmail)
  • small toolkit or two
  • flashlight (may help with cabling, finding lost items under tables, etc.) (catherine.devlin at gmail)

Registration Area

  • (2) power strips
  • laptop - registration (Jay Graves: jaywgraves at gmail.com)
    • power strip
  • laptop - feedback station (Peter Kropf: pkropf at gmail.com)
    • power strip
  • printer (for updated schedules, signs and notices)

Talks Rooms

  • (?) power strips

Sprint Rooms

  • pads of blank paper (Marriott provides free pens/paper)
  • pens and pencils
  • (2) overhead projectors; one per sprint room (Jeff Rush: jeff at taupro.com)
  • (not clear if easels w/paper tablets and markers are needed/useful; no one has asked for them)

Kiosk PCs

  • I understood some extra PCs were needed, but I don't see the category for them. I will have 4 Dell GX1 systems donates by Omnicom Management Services with Ubuntu installed. 256 meg ram and 6 gig hard drives with 10/100 LAN.
