PyCon is a 100% |

Where to Stay in AddisonThe conference is being held inside the Dallas Addison Marriott Quorum hotel, in the conference wing. The hotel is full on the following dates:
Some rooms are still available on Sunday and Monday nights. PyCon negotiated a rate of US$ 79/night for single/double occupancy, and US$ 89/night for triple/quad occupancy. All rooms have a 13% hotel tax in addition to the amounts above. To get this rate, you must make your reservations before February 1, 2007.
To get this reduced room rate, PyCon has an obligation to fill a certain number of room-nights. If at all possible, please stay at this hotel and use the hotel's special event reservation page so we get credit. Making reservations through Travelocity or similar third-party sites will not count toward our quota. Please note also that there are four Marriott hotels at that street intersection, with different levels of service. We only get credit for rooms rented at the hotel at which the event is being held, the Dallas Addison Marriot Quorum. Check out RoomSplitting if you'd like to split a room with other attendees. We also have pictures of the guest rooms. The hotel has 548 guest rooms, divided into two types; those with a single king-size bed and those with two standard-size beds. Rollaround beds are available for free in the single king-size bedrooms (There is no room for such in the other kind of room, and even if you think the extra bed would fit, the fire marshall has forbidden it). Other Places to Stay in AddisonMarriott Residence Inn 14975 Quorum Dr, Dallas, 75254 - (972) 934-1384The Marriott Residence Inn is located just across the street and is the closest hotel. I talked with their manager, Callie, and she has plenty of available rooms on Friday and Saturday night, at $89. That price includes a free breakfast and free Internet in the room. Unfortunately, the Marriott Residence Inn is booked for Thursday night and even if there were space, their price is $179/night for Thursdays. There are two decent, less expensive hotels that are not far away. There is a Motel 6, and a Best Western. The Motel 6 (4325 Belt Line Rd - (972) 386-4577) is a short cab ride away. The Best Western (15200 Addison Rd - (972) 386-4800) is an all Suites hotel and is an easy walk. They have free breakfast and Internet. Normal room rate is $85 to $110 per night. If we can get 8 to 12 rooms in a block, we can get a better group rate. |
