There's a lot going on during the PyCon Conference Days:

Keynote talks from luminaries.
Scheduled talks on a myriad of subjects.
Lightning talks: 5-minute impromptu talks, scheduled at the conference (come prepared to talk!).
Poster session: 90 minute plenary session with a chance to interact with poster presenters.
Open Space: plenty of rooms available for follow-up discussions after scheduled talks, group discussions of projects, unscheduled talks, demos, brainstorming...
The Expo Hall: full of sponsors and vendors eager to meet you! Lots of cool swag too!
The hallway track is always popular!
Conference Nights This conference doesn't stop when the sun goes down. But get some sleep-you don't want to miss the next day.
Raffles will happen (at the beginning of Sunday afternoon Lightning Talks @ 1:20pm) for some nice Python-oriented gifts donated by sponsors and friends of the community.
