TIP Dinner/BoF
Sat Mar 28 6:30-?
TIP stands for Testing in Python. There's a mailing list of folks ( http://lists.idyll.org/listinfo/testing-in-python ) who care about testing and methodologies, be they Agile, TDD, Stupidity Driven Development, etc. Discussions run the gamut of code organization, testing frameworks, continuous integration, web testing, etc.
If you are interested in either dinner or the BoF please update the attendees section below.
Dinner
Meet in Hotel Lobby on Saturday March 28th at 6:30pm
Titus has reserved one of the open space rooms, but someone should check to see what Steve Holden is doing with "teach me web testing"; it overlapped as of yesterday. Plus he had a better room, so we should steal it from him if possible.
For dinner, we'll probably order pizza in, and Terry Peppers will be getting beer. Please bring some cash or your paypal info ;). I'd plan ~$10/perso for pizza, another $5-10 for beer.
Ideas for dinner? Restaurants? See Chicago Restaurants.
Pizza - where?
Chicago has great pizza. It's the home of "deep dish" style.
Giordano's is good. They're a few blocks north on River Road, within walking distance if it's not too cold. And they deliver.
This is probably our default: ordering pizza in.
Maria's Mexican Restaurant
- Here are the walking directions
- 9440 W Foster Ave, Rosemont, IL 60656, USA ยท 773-992-2288
- This is a short walk from the hotel. It has a lot of space but was a little crowded last year on a Sat night. Might need to call ahead to reserve space?
-
- Best kept secret of Chicago
- 20+ Bavarian beers on tap
- It is generally not crowded and has been used for ad-hoc gatherings by ChiPy. If we wanted to project then we should probably call ahead otherwise it should be fine for a group of 20-ish.
- This is about a 20-25 min drive from the hotel. By public transport it is a little tricky ~60 min, transfer Blue line to Brown exit Irving Park stop. These train lines run all night though and would be ideal for a return trip. It is also possible to flag down cabs from where the bar is. Best option would be to organize a convoy (Terry Peppers and Kumar McMillan can drive 3-4 people each; Pam Zerbinos can probably take another 2-3.)
BoF
Starting on Saturday March 28th at 9-9:30pm (after dinner) in Open Space DFW room.
