Python Conferences Worldwide

The Python programming language is popular around the world. The global Python community hosts five conferences each year:

EuroPython began in Charleroi, Belgium and was held at CERN in Swizerland in 2006. Vilnius, Lithuania hosted EuroPython 2007 and will host EuroPython 2008 as well (Monday 7th July to Saturday 12th July).

PyCon Brasil held its third conference from August 30 to September 1, 2007 in Joinville - SC, at SOCIESC.

PyCon FR will be held in Paris on May 17 & 18, 2008.

PyCon Italia convened for the first time in Firenze on June 9 and 10, 2007. The second Italian PyCon will be held May 9, 10, & 11.

PyCon UK had its inaugural conference on September 8 and 9, 2007, at the Birmingham Conservatoire. The 2008 PyCon UK will be held from the 12th to 14th September in the same venue.

PyCon USA was in Washington, DC from 2003 to 2005, then moved to Dallas, Texas for 2006 and 2007. In 2008, PyCon USA was held in Chicago. Chicago will also be the site for PyCon 2009.

These self-organized, community-driven events rely upon volunteers. Each conference may circulate between different sites from year to year. All share the goal of bringing together the developers, designers, and business people who are the Python community.

At a PyCon, you will meet people who have just begun their journey into the world of this dynamic, object-oriented programming language. You will also meet the people who started it all.

You can expect informational and inspirational talks in a friendly atmosphere. Other Python developers are glad to share their experiences, and to learn from yours. It's easy to make contacts and to make friends. You will meet interesting people and enjoy yourself.
