Jono DiCarlo (Humanized, Inc) bio
Jono DiCarlo is a UI designer, software developer and one-quarter of the development team at Humanized, a Chicago startup company. Humanized uses Python for everything: web-apps, controlling build processes and server daemons, automating regression tests, and for client-side, user-facing applications. Jono has given talks about Humanized software, HCI and usability at several conferences and user groups in the US and abroad, including Euro Python 2007. He also writes articles on the Humanized weblog about usability, design, and why Python is superior to other languages. Jono earned a B.S. in Physics at the age of 17 and holds a master's degree in computer science from the University of Chicago. Before coming to work at Humanized, he taught English in Japan and worked on Grid Computing at Argonne National Laboratory. In his non-computer time he practices martial arts and draws a webcomic about hacker culture and Japanese culture.
