Traveling to Chicago
Work in progress. You can help!
By Air
It is important to know that Chicago has 2 major airports:
O'Hare (ORD)
As it's name suggests, the Crowne Plaza Chicago O'Hare is quite close to the O'Hare International airport. O'Hare is the world's busiest airport, with connections and competitive fares to just about everywhere.
If you arrive at O'Hare, you can take the hotel's free shuttle bus.
If you are in a hurry, a taxi from O'Hare to the hotel should cost about $10-$15. If you are not loaded down with luggage, you could also take "Blue Line" "L" train from O'Hare to Rosemont (the first stop out of O'Hare) and walk 10 minutes south on River Road to the hotel.
Midway (MDW)
Bargain hunters and procrastinators may be tempted by the low last minute fares offered by Southwest, Frontier and other airlines to Chicago's Midway Airport. This is often a good option, but you should know that the trip from Midway to the convention hotel will add some time and expense to your trip. The hotel's free shuttle bus will not go to Midway airport.
A guess is that a taxi from Midway to the hotel would cost $50-$80 and take around 45 minutes.
With the "L" train, the trip will cost $2 and take 80 minutes to 2 hours. To do this, follow the signs at Midway to the "Orange Line" "L". The Orange line will treat you to a very scenic "L"evated ride into Chicago's loop. Transfer at Clark/Lake street to the underground "Blue Line", which you should take in the direction of O'Hare to the Rosemont stop. If you are tired or have a lot of luggage, call the hotel (847-671-6350) and have their free shuttle pick you up at the station (Rosemont). Otherwise, walk about about 5 minutes south on River Road to the Crowne Plaza hotel.

By Car
Use this link to Google maps. Note that the hotel's parking lot costs $18/day. More info here.
By Rail
Amtrak has trains from all over the US. These trains arrive in downtown Chicago and have easy access to the "Blue Line" "L".
By Bus
From cities in the Midwest, Greyhound and MegaBus are a reasonable options. Greyhound shares the "Chicago Cumberland Ave" stop with the Cumberland "Blue Line" "L" station. This is one stop from the Rosemont "L" station, where the hotel is. This is within the 5-mile radius served by the hotel's free shuttle bus, so call them and have them pick you up. Hint: if you book 30 to 45 days in advance, you might be able to get a $1 fare on MegaBus.
